I love the patina of aged decor especially reclaimed wood. It has that rustic weathered look and feel that speaks of character and experience. It's already had a full life and instead of being discarded someone has recognized it's beauty, value and richness and reclaimed it. There are species of wood no longer available unless they are reclaimed. Every plank tells a story of a former life. Much of the salvaged wood comes from old rural barns or factories built during the American industrial revolution. Once considered garbage this wood is being cleaned up and reused to bring depth and age to new homes and commercial spaces. How green is that?
