A whole new world

If you're a local theater-goer, you might think of James Monroe Iglehart as The Big Bad Wolf from TheatreWorks' 2005 production of "Into the Woods," or you might have seen him sing "Ol' Man River" or play Sweeney Todd at Foothill Music Theatre. He was also hard to miss as a soulful singing clothes dryer in "Caroline, Or Change" at TheatreWorks a few years back.

More recently, he's been singing on Broadway in the Tony-winning "Memphis." Next month, Iglehart will take a hiatus from his role as Bobby to play the Genie in a new stage version of the Disney musical "Aladdin." The show opens July 7 at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. Adam Jacobs, who hails from Half Moon Bay, is slated to play the title role.
